Keep in mind....
• A tablet can easily hold twice the weight of a capsule. Also, tablets are generally less expensive than capsules.
• A Tablet will be specified to dissolve in less than 45 minutes in the stomach while a capsule will be specified to dissolve within 30 minutes.
• A comfortable sized tablet can hold 1200-1400 mgs
• A large capsule can hold 900 mg maximum.
• Vegetarian capsules are made from starch and are certified B.S.E. free and kosher.

About Minerals:
Remember that mineral elemental weights are not the same as the source weights. Each mineral is attached to an acid molecule to make it stable. For example, 50 mgs of Calcium (as calcium carbonate) has a source weight of 167 mgs. Always specify your mineral ingredients in elemental weights. You can specify the source material if you wish or leave it up to us to decide based on suitability and the best value for your product.
About Herbs:
When specifying herbs, keep in mind that herbs come as straight 1:1 powders or in extracts. Extracts concentrate the active ingredients of the herb and are expressed in ratios (ie. 4:1) or
percentage of active by weight. You may specify the extract level for your herbal ingredient or leave it us to decide based on what we believe is best for your formula.
Always specify weights per 1 single tablet or capsule.

Usually a new product is initially offered in a 30 day supply. Consumers generally feel safe investing in a single month’s supply of a product. A month will also give the consumer enough time to begin to feel the benefits of your formula.
Since packaging costs are very close to the same no matter what the count is, the higher count per bottle, the better value. Frequently once a product has been accepted in the marketplace, larger sizes are offered to give your consumers the benefit of the better value and to keep them commited to your product. You may have absolutely any count per bottle you want.

The most common bottle is a white HDPE plastic. This bottle is opaque, unbreakable, light weight and makes an excellent seal with the inner cap induction seal.
Other bottles are available at no extra cost:
PETE: this plastic has more gloss than HDPE and has the same positive features. It is available in BLUE, WHITE, GREEN and other colors, depending on availability. Custom colors are availble at no extra charge, but do require a 25,000 bottle minimum and extra lead time.
GLASS: Glass has a perceived consumer value because of the weight. There is a small upcharge for this bottle, which is normally available in AMBER. it
is something to consider if your distribution is through retail stores. However, if you are marketing on the
internet or through telephone sales, you should consider the breakage and weight factors. Also, the inner cap seal does not make a good seal with glass.
CAPS: Closures are available in several colors. Generally, white, blue, green, black, red and yellow are always available. Custom colors are available at no extra charge, but do require a 25,000 cap minimum and extra lead time.
